“Thank You 2019!”

Dearest 2019,

You’ve never been so easy. It was indeed a roller coaster ride. I wish I’ve experienced more ups but today, when I looked back… mostly, I am down this year… My patience and faith in God was tested this whole year. There was this time that I thought I was blind because all I can see was darkness. My positivity was shaken. Slowly, my hope was fading. I felt like drowning. It was a never ending problems. An extreme ride indeed!

But despite of all these? I love you, you know. Yes, I do! Because my 2019 will always be a constant reminder whenever I looked back in my life, that I am strong. Stronger than those superheroes I used to adore. You are a proof that I am loved. That God’s love for me is overflowing, everlasting, never failing and never ending. A proof that God will always send some angels and will always provide. Because despite of all these, here I am on your last day, standing still and ready to face 2020!

Maybe you had caused me pains and failures but these pains and failures will always serve as life lessons for me to strive more and do my best for the succeeding years until those dreams are finally mine! Maybe you gave me all the reasons to give up in life and let go of hope but with God’s grace I was able to overcome everything. I’ve learned the beauty of waiting and trusting in His plans. That truly, He will never let me down.

But above all these, I want to thank you, my dearest 2019. Thank you for all the laughters and tears. Thank you for all my ups and downs. Thank you for all the good and bad memories. Thank you because I’ve met new people that slowly became a big part of me, they became my extra source of happiness and strength. You will always be a part of me. A beautiful reminiscence indeed! Thank you! And now I can say, 2020 here I am! Stronger than ever! So bring it on!

Love,
The Best Version of Me

“Living with more Love, more Giving, more Joy & more Thanksgiving”

Don’t you think it’s time for us to live with more love, more giving, more joy and more thanksgiving?

68e4c608-0b66-419a-bd13-fe694e4372db

It was the last week of November 2019, when one of my sisters in Christ – Jamicah Ferranco, informed us that she is planning to celebrate her birthday by doing an outreach program. I was actually amazed and inspired, at the same time I told her that I am in! Jam as we call her, is about to enter a new chapter of her life and one of her bucket list before getting married is to do this act of kindness on her birthday. The idea is, instead of celebrating her birthday with friends and love ones, she wants to share more love, more giving, more joy and more thanksgiving to those people who are really in need. With this in mind, since we are here in Dubai, she chose to help Overseas Filipino in Distress – (Overseas Filipino who has medical or psycho-social problems requiring treatment, hospitalization, counseling; or problems like labor, immigration and other issues requiring legal representation as specified in Rule IX of these Rules or any other kind of intervention with the authorities in the country where he or she is found. PSA GOV PH)

At first she does not know where to start, there are approximately 200 Distressed OFWs here in Dubai and she will be needing all the help she can get and of course she needs volunteers because she can’t do it alone. But Jam is not new in this kind of service. For the past few years, she’s been part of many outreach programs and somehow she was inspired as well by those services. She knows that as long as God is with her, everything will be possible. True enough! By God’s grace, little by little Jam together with his partner in this service – Mar (Marlo Majaducon) was able to create a service team who are willing to help and give more love to our Distressed OFWs. And with God’s overflowing love, Mr. Paolo Guevarra of Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) wants to do the same as well. So, they worked together and came up with the idea of giving a Christmas Party with a theme “WE SERVE, WE CARE”, to our Distressed OFWs. They’ve coordinated everything to POLO Dubai (Philippine Overseas Labor Office). And truly, with God, nothing is impossible. It was so heartwarming, help came, the donations and pledges we received was overflowing, and volunteers poured in.

It was the 28th of December 2019 when we went to POLO Dubai. With our joyful hearts, we started around 02:30 PM with a prayer and continuously followed the program. POLO Dubai was filled with the eagerness to show love, the value of giving, the willingness to give joy and the essence of thanksgiving. It was in the air and truly you can feel the spirit of Christmas even though it was actually a little bit late for Christmas. After the prayer and some speeches, we gave them some giveaways with mostly chocolates and candies inside, attached is a Bible Verse that they can ponder and the giveaways have corresponding numbers for the gift raffle. We served pancit, bread and juice for their snacks. They played games and we can say that they really enjoyed the games that we prepared for them. We sang some Christmas Carols while they are eating. We’ve found out that a lot of them possessed talents that Filipinos will be proud of. Some of them dance and got some moves of J.Lo! And check this out, one of them sang “To Love You More”, Sarah G version and while we are listening to her, it seems that the Pop-star Princess was actually with us! We ended the program by giving grocery items – wherein each one of them got one and with a closing prayer.

Our goal is to make them happy and make them feel loved and the spirit of Christmas despite of their situations, however, God is really good because it seems that it was the other way around. We’ve enjoyed every minute that we’ve spent with them. The happiness we saw in the face of our “Kabayan” was priceless! On that day, I’ve realized something, indeed, you don’t have to be rich for you to help those who are in need. We, the service team, I’m sure we also have our own problems and struggles in life, but that should not stop you from doing good to others or helping those who are in need. To those people who became part of this program, I salute you! Thank you for your generosity and thank you for your big hearts! Personally, I would like to thank my sister Jam, brother Mar, Sir Paolo, SFC 1B3, SFC 3A2 and POLO Dubai for this wonderful experience! Truly it is time for us to live with more love, more giving, more joy and more thanksgiving because this is what the world needs now. Definitely this won’t be the last! Cheers to more services like this!

Salamat at tayo’y pinagtagpo,
Salamat, mahal kita, kahit komplikado.

Question: Can you guess the hidden words?

In my life you came…
Angels that set my heart in flame…
Having you is priceless…
Such blessing I couldn’t care less…
Amazing angels I came to know…
Nothing compares how they glow…
God’s love put us together…
Excitingly make us kind and tender…
Loving you as time pass by…
Such a wonderful feeling I want to standby…

Composer’s Note:

I humbly dedicate this poem to my Household in Singles For Christ. This is entitled NELT because I am blessed with 4 angels namely Noreen, Evan, Loveleen and Tiara. I will be forever grateful for having them in my life and I will always be proud of them. We are indeed a work in progress! And the hidden words are Iah’s Angels.

Mekeni sa Dubai na Talk-Hang?!

Mekeni sa Dubai na Talk-Hang?!

Na Talk-Hang ka na ba? Naku! (Lol)

Aba siyempre kapag usapang pagkain lahat interesado!

So ano? Kumain kana ba? Halika magpa-Talk-Hang tayo!

Napag-desisyunan naming magpa-Talk Hang!

O? Ano pang hinihintay mo? Magpa-Talk Hang kana din!

“See you……”

“See you…”

Composed By: Sumayya/Bhey

Composed On: December 07, 2019 at 08:28PM in Dubai

It’s 3’o clock in the morning,
I’m wide awake, while everybody’s sleeping,
This thoughts keep on coming,
I just wanna end everything…

Tired of this life of mine…
I miss the life that shines…
Tired of every single day…
Tomorrow I don’t wanna wake up, if I may…

I missed the old me…
The one who’s so happy…
Now I’m feeling so lost…
Where are the people I love the most?

If ever I’m gone tomorrow…
Please be happy ’cause gone all the sorrow…
Don’t ever ever cry…
‘Cause you never gave me worth even how I try…

Hope everyone will remember…
The kindness, the happiness , how I share…
Hope you’ll cherish our memories together…
And still include me in your prayer…

Goodbye, see you once again…
When I’m not broken…till we meet again…
See you on the other side of the world…
See you at the crossroad…

Disclaimer:
This Poem was composed out of depression, not intended to harm anyone but rather see the beauty of diverting depression into creating a masterpiece like this. So that you can totally express what you are currently feeling in a way that you will be able to let it all out and somehow feel good and feel relax afterwards. #KeepGoing

“Distance”

I thought it is easy,
Without you here, without you near me…
At first nothing i felt,
As days pass by, my heart melts…

Crying inside so badly,
Missing you is killing me softly…
I miss your kisses, i miss your hug…
I even miss when we fight and I nag…

I really miss our togetherness,
Be it happiness , craziness , or sadness…
Can’t help myself but cry…
You want me to be strong, yes I”ll try,

But, Its hard to be alone..
Doing everything on your own..
Not even a simple glance..
Loving you from a distance …

Bagamat maingay at medyo may kayabangan daw sabi nila

Alaala niya’y laging nakikita…

Dahil walang wala talagang patutunguhan…
Sana damdamin ay maturuan…
Para wala ng iba pang masaktan…

A Letter From A 10 Year Old Boy

My heart aches for this 10 year old boy who handed this “letter” to my dear friend Jufren while he is at work. Jufren sent it to me with the caption “A letter from a 10 year old boy”. So I read it and after reading the letter my heart literally fell out for this young boy. I felt sad at the same time and I was wondering if how many boys at his age are feeling the same? Is this how cruel the world that we are living in right now for a 10 year old boy must feel like this?

To be honest, this is so alarming and I would like to share this to raise awareness. That racism is a critical disease in our society right now and we should pay attention and act as fast as we can to eliminate this, so that young generations will be able to see the beauty of the world we are living in.

As our Miss Universe 2019 – Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa, said “I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me – with my kind of skin and my kind of hair – was never considered to be beautiful. And I think that it is time that that stops. I want children to look at me and see my face and I want them to see their faces reflected in mine”. Indeed! It is never too late to have a better world!

“Racial Inequality”

(The Rude Quest)

By: Sami NayfehWhatsApp Image 2019-12-11 at 1.39.36 PM

Here is the letter:

Racial inequality is when people are discriminated against because of the color of their skin, their cultural beliefs or their country of birth. Racial inequality has caused many kids to go to poor schools base on their skin color. Racial inequality is just plain wrong, which is why we need to take action or else many children could be targeted from bullies, coming home in sadness and not even wanting to go to school. So make sure you help because racial inequality is making many people sad, uncared  about and “heart broken”, so do you really want to miss out on this great chance to help? Written and illustrated by Sami Nayfeh in flying colors.
